More and more Egyptians have taken to the streets to protest the government’s harsh crackdown, and to say nothing of the recent attack on the journalists in Nice, France.
The protesters chanted ‘Jews, we are the enemies you’ve had!’, ‘The police will take revenge on Arabs!’
One Egyptian policeman was wounded in Friday’s attack.
On Saturday, protesters said there would be a state of emergency in Egypt after the death of 24 Egyptian journalists, including Mohammed Merah, the brother of Egyptian president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
A Reuters investigation found a string of deadly attacks, particularly in the capital, Cairo.
The Associated Press reported the attack on Mohamed Merah’s body to the Egyptian authorities and the French interior minister, Laurent Fabius, says she could face a jail term.
‘We know that the government has no authority over the press who can speak out against the government,’ the French head of state has been quoted saying.
‘We condemn all acts of the government, not only those who attack the press, but also those who do not represent the law.’
